THE WAR BETWEEN TWO ECLIPSES
Staying Sane While the Cosmos Turns Up the Volume

Human history has always shown a curious rhythm around eclipses. Ancient astrologers called eclipses cosmic interruptions—moments when the usual order of things is temporarily suspended and hidden tensions surge to the surface. Kings once feared them, armies delayed campaigns because of them, and historians have often noted how collective emotions run high when the lights of the sky flicker.

Right now we are moving through what I call an “eclipse hammock”—that suspended space between a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on March 3 and the upcoming Solar Eclipse on August 12, while Mercury retrograde till March 20 adds its own brand of confusion, miscommunication, and logistical snarls.

When eclipses arrive, they accelerate reality. What has been simmering becomes undeniable. What has been hidden is revealed. And because human beings are not always skillful with intensity, the shadow side can show up as conflict, projection, and emotional warfare.

Historically, periods around eclipses have coincided with heightened volatility—political standoffs, uprisings, sudden decisions by leaders, and collective emotional surges. It is not that eclipses cause war. Rather, they illuminate fault lines that were already present.

Add Mercury retrograde to the mix, and the environment becomes even more combustible. Words are misunderstood. Plans unravel. Leaders double down instead of stepping back. Negotiations stall just when clarity is most needed.

This is why eclipse periods require something rare and precious:
conscious restraint.

The real war during eclipse season is often the war within—between reactivity and wisdom, between the urge to escalate and the courage to pause.

And yet, eclipses also offer a profound opportunity. When shadows become visible, transformation becomes possible.

So while the headlines may amplify conflict, each of us can choose a different role: refusing to be drawn into emotional crossfire and staying devoted to peace, integrity, and constructive action.

Below is a simple guide for each sign on how to navigate the turbulence without adding fuel to the fire.

Aries

Your instinct is to charge forward, but eclipse energy can make battles look more urgent than they actually are. Pause before reacting and ask yourself whether your courage is better used protecting peace rather than winning arguments.

Taurus

When tensions rise you may cling more tightly to what feels safe. Instead of digging in your heels, practice flexibility and remember that stability sometimes comes from adapting rather than resisting.
