THE AGE OF AQUARIUS
FROM THE AGE OF PISCES TO THE AGE AQUARIUS
FROM THE SACRIFICIAL MARTYR TO THE ENLIGHTENED COMMUNITY MEMBER
The age of Pisces is nearly 2300 years long and we are approaching the age of Aquarius within the next 30-50 years.
(There is much debate on the exact date......but it is coming!)
The turning of the age is an extremely potent period as we have the opportunity to prepare and evolve to the next stage of consciousness.
The archetype of Pisces is the two fishes swimming in opposite directions; the sign and symbol refer to duality. Pisces is a mutable water sign and is about caring, empathy, sensitivity, imagination, and delusion, escapism, and martyrdom. The Christ story is Pisces in nature, and has saturated Western consciousness, equating sacrifice with virtue, and valorizing the idea that we can replace "sin" with "goodness".
How many of us have been trained to be "good" over being real? How many have been trained to sacrifice our wants and needs in service of others? How many of us live with the burden of obligated and resented relationships?
The shadow side of the Pisces saintliness is falseness and deceit.
To the degree folks have had to hide their natural desires in a cloak of propriety and virtue, they have to act out those aspects of self with deceit, and lying.
One only has to read the thousand of news stories about pedophile priests, and closeted homophobic statesmen, to see that banishing our humanness in favor of posturing "goodness' creates a split . One only has to hear the bitterness in the voice of women who lament “I gave my life to you and………..” to realize that we have made an impossible contract of selflessness.
During the Pisces age we have denied our wholeness in favor of an ideal of purity. We have separated people out in narratives of worthiness and holiness, and an insidious historic narrative of whiteness equaling purity and superiority. Countless wars around the world have been waged with the preposterous idea of a manifest destiny.
We have lived in an epoch of the “chosen ones” and moral "correctness".
Yet we have suffered the long shadow of this age which is the split of good/bad, white/dark, holy/impure, female/male, etc.
And in the name of the virtuous, endless atrocities have been perpetuated.
So now as we approach the Age of Aquarius we can change up the story and make a stupendous paradigm shift. In this preparatory time we have the opportunity to do the shadow work and reclaim the unity of humanity.
Aquarius is a fixed air sign about the clarity and objectivity of a united collective, focusing on the horizontal vector of equality instead of the vertical mindset of hierarchy.
As we participate in the end days of the Age of Pisces we will all be challenged to move out our righteous, martyred, and victim positions, and claim our true desires, agency, and vitality . We will need to replace the emphasis on sacrifice with a call to becoming whole, and eliminate notions of superiority with the elevation of equanimity.
We will have to be accountable instead of entitled.
Are you ready to give up being “good” for being whole?
Are you ready to drop all identities in favor of being an essential equal part of the undivided human community?
Are you ready to drop your notion of the divine as being better, or more evolved, than any other ideas?
Are you willing to put the wellbeing of others over personal gain?
You can see why we might need another few decades before we truly embrace the new vision of Aquarius.
